The REAL American Cowboys
The real cowboy had to gather his or her cattle and get it to the train station to get a living. Farmers, tired of this, decided to make the first barbed wire fences, and destroyed the way of the cowboy. Hollywood's portrayal of the American Cowboy was off. They didn't square off with the local sheriff in town. They didn't stop run away trains and robbers. They were normal people, laid off work after the civil war.
Reconstruction and Reforms
The African-Americans were treated little more than they were as slaves, but they never got all the good stuff. They were still treated like they were animals. When the reforms came around, they gained a voice. They gained rights that they never had before. They became more human than before.
The Assessments
My Blogging experience has been a good one. I think that 20 blog post is over the top, even 17 is pushing it. I admit, I would rather go and do my own thing on the computer, and not worry about getting a bunch of blogs in. As I type, my parents and I are watching a horror movie marathon. If it were not for these 17 blogs, my parents would not be ragging on me to get this done. So, I am done now.
Because I Learn It, Doesn't Mean They Need To Learn It Yet!
Even though I hate being lied to myself, I think that little kids should be taught everything yet. There are some things that I have learned now that I wish I hadn't. There are even things that made me squemish when a hearing it. It can get pretty scary for a little kid. So, let them think that everything is good and not bad. For now.
What History?
Every country has its own dirty little secret. I honestly don't think they should keep them from the history texts. The people deserve to know what their counrties history is, not one that is bull crapped. They should be taught the trutrh from the beginning, not lies and slander. If winners write history, then we all lose out.
My Blogging Experience
My time on Blogger has been great so far. When I go on Blogger, I enjoy doing homework on it. I wish I could do all homework online. But, I still got a lot of things left to do. Including the rest of my blogs

My Favorite Topic...
My favorite topic, honestly, was the Oregon Trail daily topic. It was fun playing a game for homework, and then telling about our time playing it was good. It was funny playing a very old game. If we got more games to play for homework would be nice.

The Feelings of The Immigrants
After looking at the photos from the Ellis Island website, there seems to be many feelings that they felt. Hope of a new life that could save a family. Freedom from places of persecution and limitations. They may have felt the grace of salvation from a bad situation. No matter what they felt, they felt grateful to be alive and going to have a better life.
Songs of Protest
From reading the lyrics of the "Song of the Shirt", the women of the textile factories were treated poorly. They were put in the factories for long hours, with no breaks from work. They feel like death can be a solace that life is void of. They work from they crack of dawn to the shine of dusk. The women of textile factories were almost numb to the good things of life, due to their cruel treatment in the factories.

Gaming and Learning
After playing "Oregon Trail", i have found out some things I did not know about with the challenges of traveling to the West. You can easily make a mistake, and not make it with enough food, or your oxen get injured or die. You can even get yourself killed. Playing games in school can help students learn better, but it has to be with learning games, or games with accurate history basis. If you play Halo, for example, you learn nothing about history, but playing Call of Duty 1-4 and World at War, or even the Medal of Honor series can teach you about those wars that those games cover, from Pearl Harbor to Battle for Egypt.
