Songs of Protest

From reading the lyrics of the "Song of the Shirt", the women of the textile factories were treated poorly.They were put in the factories for long hours, with no breaks from work. They feel like death can be a solace that life is void of. They work from they crack of dawn to the shine of dusk. The women of textile factories were almost numb to the good things of life, due to their cruel treatment in the factories.
