Does History Have Signifigance?

People argue all the time about if history has some kind of signinfigance or not. My thoughts on the matter are simple; the truths in history matter, but the false representations of history are not. History isn't just the texts that a certain group writes, but of the whole world. Different stories might get buried by one group, but another has what the other group hides. History does matter, you just got to know what to believe and not to believe.
