"I Don't Care About Slavery, I Care About The Union!"

Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest Presidents before and during the Civil War of America. But, he was more concerned with preserving the Union, not ending slavery. Reason why he didn't worry about slavery is because he would have caused a more serious inccident during his campaign, even though the South thought he was anti- slavery. Slavery was such a touchy subject that, if Lincoln had went anti- slavery at the beginning of his campaign, it would have caused the Union to split right when he came in.He was trying to keep America from going to war with itself.
